Newey, Adrian - - -Esteemed engineer/designer generally regarded as having made the major contribution to the successful Williams teams in the 1990s before leaving to join McLaren at the end of 1997. His first McLaren, the 1998 car, won the Constructors' Championship that year and the 1999 car looks also to be the fastest.

Nivelles - - -City south of Brussels, site of the BELGIAN GRAND PRIX in 1972 and 1974. Both races were run on a 3.724-km circuit and won by Brazil's Emerson Fittipaldi, in a Lotus 72D in 1972, and a McLaren M23 in 1974.

Nurburgring - - -The current circuit has hosted the EUROPEAN GRAND PRIX, and the LUXEMBOURG GRAND PRIX. It is a 4.556- km track located close to the Eifel Mountains in southeastern Germany. Close by is the original, 14-mile long Nürburgring which was commissioned in the 1930s to combat local unemployment and was home to the GERMAN GRAND PRIX from 1951-76, with the exceptions of 1959 (Berlin) and 1970 (Hockenheim). In 1984, the new Nürburgring played host to the EUROPEAN GRAND PRIX.
